Worst Case Scenario:
This scenario assumes that Mother Nature is playing against us. So whatever we do, we assume that the worst will happen. In particular, when we drop an egg from story h, then two outcome are possible: either the egg will break, or it will survive the fall. It is assumed that Mother Nature controls the outcome and that that She always selects the outcome that is worst for us.
The term Minmax is also used to describe this scenario. It indicates that we try to minimize the total number of egg-dropping whereas Mother Nature tries to maximize it.
Needless to say, to solve the puzzle under this scenario we have to find out two things: our optimal policy and Mother Nature's optimal policy.
Do not panic if you have not done such a thing before. It sounds much more difficult than it actually is.
You may wonder why we do not consider the scenario where Mother nature is playing with us. Well, under this scenario the puzzle is trivial so we should not waste our precious time thinking about it.
